Failure

Jess and I found this lovely piece of glass on the floor of the glassblowing studio the other day.
I took it into the studio and ground down the sharp areas and made a flat edge on the top.  Then I meticulously made a little silver cap that fit snugly around the top and had a little bail so I could hang it on some silk cord.  It was a friction fit and I just needed to add some epoxy for security.  Then I thought it would look better patina'ed, so I went over to the sink to brew up some liver of sulfur.  It patina'ed beautifully and even turned a little blue.  I then reached my hand across the counter to turn the water on to rinse the sulfur off AND.....knocked the glass piece with my arm and it tumbled to the floor and shattered.

End of story.  I am sad.  So much time wasted on that perfect little cap.  Never making another glass piece of jewelry again.  I am too heavy-handed for glass.
